Climb for Kid’s Sake Day 10: Khunde to Tangboche

Today we hiked from Khunde to Tengboche, where we visited the Tengboche Monastery, our second major monestary in the region. And both monestaries had a Rinpoche in residence! We’re all impressed with the beautiful culture surrounding us…it’s something you have to see to believe!
At Tangboche we finally got our first look at the famous Sargamatha (Mount Everest)! This is what we’ve all been waiting for, and the cameras were working overtime!
After lunch, we made our way to Pangboche where we will stay at the Highland Sherpa Resort. This is a lodge owned by Berg Adventures International guide Ang Temba and his family. Oh! And one of our climbers became very sick yesterday and had to be taken on horseback from Thame to Khumjung. We’re all hoping for a speedy recovery!
