Trevor Stuart

Ok, so here's the part of the website I get to share some information about me.  Aside from my very dedicated professional life, I think I'm a pretty fun and interesting guy.  Here's a bit about what i've been up to lately.

On April 28, 2007 I took part in the Canadian Open Dance Competition in Calgary, AB.

I competed in the Pro/Am International Style and received 1st place in newcomer Jive and Cha Cha as well as 1st in Latin, Bronze Jive and Cha Cha.
I was very excited about the event and I cannot wait to compete again.

In my second Competition in October of 2007 I competed in Quick Step Begginer level and also the Bronze level, International Style Waltz beginner and Bronze level, Cha Cha Cha Bronze level, International Style Jive Bronze, International Style Rumba beginner level and bronze level, all of these entries I received first place finishes. In the end my dance partner and I entered a Multi Dance Competition and danced 4 dances for the crowd. We tied for first place so the judges had to review the marks and decide who would be second and we tied again for first place. So they called out my name to be second place. This was ok with me because the scores were identiacal both times in my mind its a first regardless of the second place.

I so enjoyed the dance Competition that I want to try another one in May 2008 if I can make that one.

On Febuary 28, 2007 I took part in the 50km Spitz Sylvan Lake Ice Marathon in support of erecting orphanages in Guatamala.

This was a fund raiser event where the funds raised went strictly to constructing the orphanage itself.

I was able to complete the 50km tour in 2 hours and 48 minutes in my hockey skates.

On July 6-8, 2007, I took part in dragon boat racing in support of Breast Cancer Research.

My team was called Image ‘N’ That and we placed Silver in the C Division.

I had never Dragon Boated before and is now planning on participating again next year.  What a great time!

My New Years’ resolution, though not the most original one has been very successful so far.  I vowed to get myself into the best shape of my life.

I jumped right in the deep end by signing up with the great team over at the Canadian Martial Arts Centre here in Lethbridge.

The program I'm on is very hard work and requires a lot of descipline!  It's been an amazing experience so far. although I am participating in kickboxing and I am hitting the gym at least 4 days a week, I kid you not, I try to sit in the dry sauna after each workout too for at least 30 minutes! Am I crazy or something? ha! Actually, I am really getting to enjoy it all.

So yeah, this picture is how I ended the year 2007!! At the Canadian Martial Art Center I made my committment in January 2007 and committed the entire year to getting in shape and Voila! I am in the best shape I have been in since 2000. So I am getting there for sure. I have commited to another year in the gym and kickboxing so that will be another committed year this year.

For more information on the Canadian Martial Arts Centre check out their website at www.rumbleinthecage.com you will be impressed.

I was approached by a Director on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board in early May. Ian says to me one day "Hey Trevor? How about climbing a mountain for a fundraiser for us?" I say "I am in!" before realizing it was in Africa!!

Yikes! What did I just get myself into? Being up for personal challenges and all I decided to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for Kids' Sake!

I started weight training May 7 2007 and have climbed several mountains in the Crowsnest Pass and Waterton.

My goal is to be able to reach the top of the mountain in Africa for all the Little Brothers and Little Sisters waiting to get to know their Big Brother or Big Sister.

Lets make this a real fun event!! For more info and Pics go into my Blog Section...
